What vinyl can go through dishwasher?
There is no vinyl or heat transfer vinyl that is officially listed as dishwasher safe. Anyone who lists their vinyl as "dishwasher safe" is simply wrong and usually if pressed on the topic, they will usually back off and say most of the things I'm about to tell you below.
Permanent vinyl is waterproof, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe. In contrast, some removable vinyl is waterproof, not dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe. Usually, but not all, temporary vinyl has a matte finish while permanent vinyl is glossy.

Smooth the transfer tape using a scraper tool. Then, carefully peel the transfer tape away from the paper backing making sure the vinyl has fully adhered to the transfer tape as you go. Place the transfer tape with the vinyl design on the coffee mug, smooth it down, and peel at an angle to remove it.
We don't suggest putting these stickers through the dishwasher as this can interfere with sticker adhesion. Please use a damp cloth or hand wash products with stickers, for maximum longevity.
For example, with a mug, you're going to want to hand wash it if you don't plan to seal the vinyl. If you're going to be submerging it in water or want to run it through the dishwasher a couple times a week, then you do need to seal it.
First, apply your vinyl to whatever project you are making like you normally would. Dip a craft foam brush in the dishwasher safe Mod Podge. Brush the mod podge lightly over the area of the vinyl, just to give it a light coat. Let the coating dry completely for about 30 minutes.

Different brands call them by different names to confuse us all! So look for permanent vinyl or outdoor vinyl or premium permanent adhesive vinyl.
651 is great for mugs because of it's permanent adhesive strength - however keep in mind it's not considered dishwasher or microwave safe so you'll want to hand wash. After applying 651 vinyl to a mug be sure to let it cure (sit) for about 48 hours before washing. This just lets the adhesive come to full strength.
We are often asked the question can vinyl stickers get wet? The answer is yes. The self-adhesive vinyl used to create stickers is water resistant, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor use (including damp and humid environments).
Does Vinyl Stay on Mugs and Tumblers. Yes -vinyl will stay on mugs and tumblers provided you are using permanent adhesive vinyl. I haven't had vinyl come off a mug or tumbler yet, but to guarantee longer-lasting results, be sure to hand wash only.
The final step in any vinyl project is to let the vinyl cure. Leave vinyl alone for at least 72 hours before handing it so the adhesive can fully adhere to the surface.
Can you Mod Podge over vinyl?

Oracal 631 is the most popular vinyl to use with Cricut and Silhouette cutting machines.
